ClientsAHPR acquired the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) as a client in September 2001. With the MDA as AHPR’s longest-running client, the MDA team continues to focus on two major fundraisers: the Mike Bellotti Golf Classic and the charity auction. The goal is to promote these events while raising important funds that enable the MDA to provide services to more than 1,000 children and adults in Oregon who have neuromuscular diseases. AHPR has provided MDA with media services, auction programs, PowerPoint presentations and volunteers for the Mike Bellotti Dinner Auction and Golf Classic. In 2007, the event raised $122,000 dollars, which will go toward the MDA Summer Camp, research, patient and community services as well as professional and public health education.
AHPR works together with Allen Hall Advertising (AHA) on the New Venture Championship® (NVC) event, which is a graduate student business plan competition founded by the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Oregon. AHPR’s involvement includes creating an extensive media kit that contains a press release, fact sheet, backgrounder, competition format, flow chart and profiles. The NVC team also works to promote the event to local, regional and national media in a targeted media relations campaign. NVC team members attend the event every April to send out press releases announcing the winners.
Located in Lane County, Ore., Birth To Three has been serving the Eugene area since 1978. To date, more than 80,000 local parents and children have benefited from its programs and services, which work to strengthen families and promote the well-being of children through parent education. AHPR has begun a blog to introduce the public to Birth To Three’s programs and parenting philosophies. The blog will be fully accessible beginning in fall 2007. Parenting Now! is a division of the parent education organization Birth To Three. It offers curricula, training and products to support families and promote the welfare of children. AHPR also created blogs for Parenting Now!, as well as press kit materials. A quintessential community event, the Blackberry Jam Festival takes place every July by Dexter Lake in Lowell, Ore. Some of the festival’s attractions include crafts, a fishing derby, food, kids’ activities, a pie-eating contest, music, a parade and more. AHPR assisted with event planning, media outreach, logo redesign, Web site updates and securing vendors at the event.
Community Health Centers of Lane County (CHC) works to make are a federally qualified health centers making healthcare more accessible to low-income citizens. Through its eight community sites, the health centers offer high-quality healthcare, preventative dental services and access to pharmacy medications. AHPR had the opportunity to help CHC with publication materials, promotional events and media relations. | ||||
